So here's my half of the battle #749 for #The-IPL
I'm going back to pencil crayons and pencils again, because Photoshop lets me make things pretty too easily without actually doing a good job of it. Time to stop being lazy.
My opponent was ~Nekokat36 [link]
. Her trainer profile is so cute, I'm sorry I didn't have time to draw Neko too. But work just got crazy busy, so I'm uploading what I have with a pretty terrible background just so I hand something in.
Scorch the Houndoom is a strong Pokemon... in the attacking sense. He's pretty fragile defensively, so he generally tries to win by being faster than his opponent and taking it down in one hit. The problem is, Neko's Basil is one tough Ivysaur. When Scorch's Flamethrower didn't manage to knock him out of commission in one go, Eisha knew her dog was in trouble. At first, she didn't realize what "Vine Bash" was, or why the Ivysaur was bothering with a relatively weak grass attack. And then she realized that Neko had combined two attacks into one, using Vine Whip to pin the faster, nimble Houndoom in place, then rocketing forwards with a devastating Skull Bash.
Long story short, from the moment I saw Neko's profile, I wanted to draw THIS picture. It went through a few tries to get a pose I didn't absolutely hate, but this is actually pretty close to what I wanted in the first place. So thank you, Neko, for the chance to battle against your creative attack using Pokemon!
