Christmas ornament

I wish I could find the original piece again so I could get a higher resolution scan. The original piece is roughly 10"x10".

Since I've had so much trouble turning out any art I like lately, here's some art I did years and years ago, the very first piece from my high school art class. This is back from... wow. 2001. The assignment in art class was to take an object and draw it. I wasn't sure what to draw, so I bought in a few different things... I can't even remember what they all were now. This was by far the most complicated, and of course, this is the one my teacher picked.

Throughout this piece, I hated him. I loathed him, I was in tears, I couldn't stand it. Every time I thought I had it right, he'd look at it, and say, "Darker."
"But I am going dark," I'd say, over and over. "Look, I'm shading, see?"
"Darker."

And he was right. By the time I was done... I respected him, and was in awe, not only of what he could teach me, but what I was capable of. He was right, every time he said it. I miss having his input terribly.
